Free iPhone 4 Cases from Apple
Apple is giving away free "bumper" cases to existing iPhone 4 customers to solve an antenna issue, but the program is currently set to run out on September 30th, 2010. Steve Jobs mentions that Apple will review their options at that point and figure out what to do going forward. This has me thinking that Apple might be targeting October 1, 2010 for a more permanent hardware fix. I wonder if this will have a measurable impact on iPhone 4 sales right around October 1.

I think this move is to stop mass returns of iPhone 4s and to spur a mass influx of new orders by folks who see value in a free case in order to deplete existing supply of "flawed" iPhone 4s, after which we'll see a hardware update.
Personally, I bought one anyway and I don't see the issue because the thing is so slick to the touch, operating it with out a case is just asking for it to be dropped. I'm a fan of the free case.

Michael: I don't know. Do you think a $29 case is a big draw for what is either a $600 phone or a $2000 carrier commitment with a $200 phone?
